Palin meets Indian Average Joe

I cannot get over the news that Sarah Palin is going to India to address the India Conclave in Delhi on March 19th.

The first picture that came to my mind was this quintessential cartoon picture by famous Indian cartoonist, R.K Laksman which has represented the Average Joe in India for years.

And then I remembered the exquisitely coiffured , designer suited , gun totting , hot lipped hockey mom.

Hmmm... EAST and WEST and hopelessly hoping they do not meet IN THIS CASE....

Palin's knowledge of Geography is infamous. Remember her comment about Russia"...They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska. " . Well......wonder if she really knows the Indians she is visiting are not Native Americans. After all Columbus did mistake the Native Americans to be Indians. And Ms Palin is but Sarah Palin.....

So a few DO's and DONT's , from an Indian Average Joe for Ms Palin's pretty head....

1. Indians come in different shapes, sizes ,colors but definitely not RED..

2. Indian 2nd Amendment and USA's 2nd Amendment are not the same...

3. Guns are No-No in India.. specially the giant sized hunting rifles, unless you want to send the woefully unequipped Indian police to a dead-faint..

4. Replace Cows for Caribou and Mouse for Moose; which are plenty in India...latter specially in the city slums..and yes..if you are itching for some hunting past time.. mice can be hunted down but not Cows..

5. Population of Delhi is 20 times the population of Alaska.. So if you see lots of people around you, it is not REALLY because of your popularity..

6. India actually has a political party called the Communist Party of India, so avoid the C-word, unless you want a literal "dharna" (ie. sit-in), in your hotel lobby by one of the most vocal political parties in India

7. Indians love Tea and Tea Parties are common with the friendly neighbourhood ChaiWalla( ie. Tea Stall); but there is no parallel with your Tea party pals..

8. Indian mom's are more "Cricket Mom's" than "Hockey Moms"..Sorry Ms Palin.. no parallel here too......
